Auto-generate date/time field data based upon existing column

I have a sheet where I have a Status column. When I chose "complete" in that Status column, ideally I'd like to have another column (let's say it is named "Completion Date/Time") to auto-populate with the date/time (preferably just time) that "complete" was chosen from the Status column. This seems like an easy ask, but I'm not seeing if/how that's possible. Has anyone else run into this?

There is currently not a timestamp for specific actions other than Created and Modified. If that is the last change to the row, you could use a Modified (date) type column and lock the row once it has been marked complete.

If there are further edits required to the row, you would need to flip your process so that a formula populates the Status column once a date and/or time has been manually entered.

As a possible workaround, the third-party service, Zapier is an excellent option for this scenario. You could also use the Smartsheet API. Is any of those an option for you?
