Tracking % Changes Over Time
I have a master sheet (linked to many other, scope-specific QC sheets) that calculates % completion per task.
Each row is for a different task, and each task has their own amount of steps. This information is all linked & calculated from the scope-specific sheets. Column 1 shows "# of steps completed to date", column 2 shows "Total Steps", and column 3 calculates "% completion" from columns 1 and 2.
I would like to track (and graph) the % completed over time, preferably by week. This would require tracking the changes in column 3 on a weekly basis. From what I can tell, I would need to add another sheet to track this & graph from.
Does anyone know of an automated way I can export that column & have it added as a "new column" on a new sheet? It seems that Zapier only works with row-based triggers.

Hi,
Interesting!
It might be possible to structure something with Zapier or the Smartsheet API.
A possible workaround could be to use cell linking and save the values from it every week in the other sheet.
Would that work?
I hope that helps!
Have a fantastic week!

You actually may already have almost everything you need in place.
When something is completed, is it marked with a date? If so, this could actually be a pretty straightforward setup for you.

Id like to do the same as requested. Have a project that I need to track the progress over time so I can see the trend and project the completion date based on daily changes in the tasks completed. If we could automate a daily workflow that could push that day's stats in the sheet summary to a new line in a new sheet or report we could build a sheet with one line of stats for each day and then graph that data.
Any idea if that is possible with current functionality?

@Eric Wallace You can use a copy row automation to to push the data to another sheet. Once it is copied to the new sheet, the data becomes static.

Wouldn’t it work with the Workflow to copy the row to another sheet instead?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic day!
