Auto sort new rows

Please add my vote too. This is a REALLY basic but essential feature

Guys the problem is that when you are manually adding rows to the sheet for instance on a sheet that keeps track of proposal due dates, each row is added to the bottom of the sheet then has to be manually sorted if you want the sheet order of ascending due dates.
The EASIEST WAY to implement an auto sorting feature would be to add a very simple "Auto sort when sheet is saved" option. That way, every time you close or save the sheet, it will auto-sort based on your sorting selection. I think this will be very simple to implement for the Tech team.

I'd like to support this request. I'm pushing Smartsheet to do things for us and because I'm using VLOOKUP, I need the data sheet to automatically sort based on a primary column. I have a form on the data sheet where users can add data, but it doesn't matter if I have it add to the top or the bottom, it's always out of order.
I have another sheet where we import data from an Excel file on a daily basis and each time we have to sort by two columns (one ascending, the other descending). Wish it was automatic or at least be able to assign a "macro" button to click.

vote for this as a setting after every save to re-sort automatically.

Please add my vote for this task. We really need this automatically sort for entering new rows!

Three years later...has this ever been implemented? We transitioned from Producteev after it went away, and really miss the feature that moved "last touched" items to the top. We've had to add a "last touched" date column which we (obviously) manually fill each time we touch a task, and then have to manually sort the list each time.

One thing you could try, to at least reduce the manual entering, is add a "Modified (Date)" column under the Auto-Number/System column type. This date will automatically change every time you change anything with a row.
