how to sort filtered data?
hi, i can sort and then filter but not filter and then sort,
how come SS offers one and not the other please?
Btw...I love the new filter options and being able to save filters is genius. Thanks SS.

There isn't a way to sort on filtered data at this time (nor is there a workaround for this) but I'll get your votes down for this to our enhancement request list for further consideration.
In the meantime, you'll want to sort first and filter after.

Please add the ability to sort after filtering. It is really a pain to have to remove filtering, sort, and then filter again. Inefficient and this is basic functionality in Excel and MS Project. Makes it hard to create high-level views and then sort by date.

Agreed, this is frustrating.
Is this the proper place to vote for said feature? (I clicked the little heart).
Also, one other suggestion. With the advent of the new "saved filters" feature. If we had the ability to "save sorting" with a filter, I think it would solve much of the "user pain".
For example, when I make a filter, I can choose at the time what I want sorted. Then, behind the scenes, when I choose the filter SS will apply that sort for me.

I think nearly all of the sorting after filtering issues are solved with Reports.

Creating a report for each time you want to filter a sheet is pretty inefficient. Filtering and then sorting is available in Excel (even the online version) and MS Project (also the less robust online version) so seems like something most users are accustomed to doing. Hopefully this is coming soon!

I'm not opposed to sorting post-filtering, I just have an easy work-around.
It is only slightly less convenient to create a Report than it is to create a filter that I want to save. Reports are indeed to create but are more versatile to apply to other sheets that need the same filter/sorting.
If a filter/sort is done more than two or three times, it should be saved.
It is inefficient probably to do otherwise.
I would prefer they fix the sorting with hierarchies before they fix a normal filter, based on where my time is used. Excel aand MS Project don't have that feature, so the problem is slightly different.
Again, YMMV.

Oh, and I have added links to the important Reports at the top of the sheet if I need to use them often.
