Attaching an item to a column or specific cell?

Is there a way to attach a file (Word, Excel, etc) to a column or a specific cell? Β I know how to attach an item to a sheet or row, but need it on a column or cell. Β TIA!

    There isn't functionality for attaching files on the cell or column level, only on the sheet or row level.
