Updating data in existing rows
Hi
I need to allow my team to update nursing visit dates on existing patients. I have read that I can't use a form to do so.
I can't really use an update request because I don't know when the changes are going to take place. Is there an easy way to have them update it?
Thanks!!

@Robyn Pier Glad we got it working!
For everyone else.
We used a formula with the VLOOKUP function.

Are you able to provide more detail as to your setup? Are there set dates when the nursing visits occur? Are the next visits scheduled? What exactly is it that gets modified?
-
Hi
There are no set dates, it varies by patient and therapy type. I will need to modify only the date field, so for example if the infusion was today and it scheduled for next week--I would need to have them update it to next week's date. Does that help?

Hi Robyn,
Depending on the structure of your sheet we could maybe use a form that the team can send in and that would update the dates.
Would that work?
Can you describe your process in more detail and maybe share the sheet(s) or some screenshots? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@getdone.se)
I hope that helps!
Have a fantastic day!

i had a thought. Does SmartSheet take information from one sheet and link to another? So, for example, could I create a second sheet so I could use a form, have that fill in the new dates and then have SS pull the new dates from that sheet into my original sheet?

@Robyn Pier Yes, that could probably work. Depends on your structure.
How are using the dates in the main sheet? Are you using dependencies?

No, no dependencies, it's a very simple sheet. :)
You guys are awesome.
Thank you :)

@Paul Newcome It's not as easy to see the time now but you were approximately 2 minutes faster.

@Robyn Pier Happy to help! Do you have anything unique on the sheet? Name or similar? We'd use that to match the dates from the other sheet to the main sheet.

The patient names are in one cell, can i use that? They uniquely identify each row
-
Ideally, I only want two or three of us to have access to the database, so that is why I wanted forms for them to fill in the information
-
Yes, that would work perfectly.

So, the patient has their visit, and another is scheduled. I need my team to input the date of the new visit(s) without accessing the sheet. They've been using Excel and it is a nightmare--I just took it over.
Here's a screenshot--I can't share it because it's all confidential. :)

Thanks! If you want it's not to much work, you could share a copy with no data or dummy data.
