Reminders email notifications
Good morning all,
I have a question regarding email notifications sent when a reminder is set in a row.
Is there a way to set the reminders emails to be delivered at a specific time on the due date specified?
Every time we set reminders, we are getting the notifications between 2 and 4 am. This is a bit impractical as users might disregard the reminder completely.
Please let me know
Thanks
Juan

Yes. At the bottom of the Trigger box should be a place where you can change the time.

Hey Paul,
Thanks for looking into this
What you are showing is part of the alerts, what I'm trying to figure out is the reminder function.
This function does not seem to have the ability to set a time.

Hi Juan,
Unfortunately, it's not possible at the moment when the reminder isn't part of a workflow, but it's an excellent idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment to have your vote added
I hope that helps!
Can you use the workflow option instead?
Have a fantastic week!
Best,

@Paul Newcome Juan is setting the manual row reminder, and that one doesn't have the same options.

@Andrée Starå Ah. Ok. I was looking at "Due Date Specified" and assuming we were talking a date type column as the trigger for the automation type of reminder.
-
Thank you both for the insight. I will submit the enhancement request.
The reason why I don't want to use the workflow solution is because I want to make it as simple to the users as I can.
Removing the potential for errors.
Thanks for the help!!

Happy to help!
As a workaround, you could maybe use a workflow for a reminder that would trigger ing a checkbox or similar is checked.
Would that work/help?

One option for maintaining simplicity but leveraging the time feature in automations would be to use a checkbox type column to trigger sending a reminder on a date specified in another column.
Or even just entering a date into a column could trigger the workflow to run based on that date.
-
@Andrée Starå My first thought was checkbox as well, but then I figured... Why not set it up to run based on a manually entered date column?
The users have to manually select a date anyway when setting up a reminder on the row level. Entering the Reminder Date manually into a column and saving the sheet is actually a step or two less than at the row level since row options don't have to be accessed.
-
The only thing with the automated workflow reminder is selecting who is to receive the reminder.
There are cases when only one user needs to be reminded and there are other cases where multiple users need to be reminded.
I will try it with a couple of users to see what they think. I will keep you post it.

@Paul Newcome Good thinking!
@Juan-JLC Sounds good!

@Andrée Starå Thanks!
@Juan-JLC one way to account for recipient selection is to have the users enter the recipients into a contact type column that has multi-select enabled. I know this adds in additional steps as compared to just entering a date, but at least you will still be able to select the time. I also feel like working in the sheet directly is more user friendly than having to access the row properties. Definitely let us know.

@Paul Newcome Thanks Paul. The solutions seem to be very good and I will try them to see what users think.
On the other hand adding more columns to what we are trying to keep as clean as possible poses a challenge.
I know, you might say a couple more columns is not a big deal and I know is not but we'll see how users interact with it.
I have submitted the enhancement request.
Thanks again
