I have messed up one of my formulas and don't know how to fix it.
I have accidentally deleted one of my formulas and can't get it working again. Please help. I need to do a vlookup but I keep getting a no match error
=VLOOKUP(Project1, {Project Ref Number}, 1, false)
this is my formula, not sure what the problem is, unless there is something with the reference table. What I am doing is matching a project name to the project number off the reference sheet.
On the reference sheet project number is column 1, project name is column 2 and project manager is column 3.
I will also need to pull the project manager to another column but if figure if I can get this one working then the other will be easy.
The above is the request sheet.
this is the reference sheet that was imported from excel.
Thanks
Cindy

Hi @Cindy Bowker,
Have you checked the Activity Log for information that might help you restore or see how it was working before?
I hope that helps!

I would test your assumptions about the reference sheet and make sure that's not the problem. You can edit the formula and click on the area with the cross-sheet reference, then click edit reference to make sure its still and accurate reference. If not, reselect it, or try recreating the whole thing from scratch with at new reference.

So that didn't work, I did check the activity log and went back to where it was working but I am still getting the #NO Match error.
I have even tried deleting the reference sheet and creating a new one with the same information. I think that my error is when I am importing the information into the reference sheet from excel.
Any suggestions?
Thanks Cindy

Start with checking the values and if they are interpreted as numbers or text. If they don't match it won't work.
