Sheet Sharing Restriction Exceptions
Is there a way to have a setting on a sheet that would allow it to override the restrictions put in place for automated alerts going to email addresses that are not in our Approved Domain Sharing List?
Here is our scenario. We locked down our Smartsheet sharing so that someone cannot share a sheet to someone that we do not pre-specify as being allowed to have a sheet shared to them. We have one domain and 11 specific email addresses added to the Approved Domain Sharing List. This list also dictates who is allowed to receive automated notifications and be selected in the Send row function. This is all great and good for sheets that contain sensitive information.
But in doing that, we've shot ourselves in the foot with some of our other sheets that use a dynamic list of e-mail addresses to alert new employees of paperwork that is missing from their new hire process.
Is there a way to flag certain sheets/workspaces to be excluded from the Approved Domain Sharing List in the realm of automated notifications?? I know you can adjust the restrictions for automation at the sheet level, BUT if the Approved Domain Sharing List is being used that is the ultimate gatekeeper of who is able to receive the automated notifications, that's not really a useful thing, right?

Hi CollabMeganPMP,
If you've set the global account settings to be restricted, then there is no way to specify which individual sheets should not be included in that setting... it will affect all sheets in the organization. (See here for more information).
You could make the global settings less restrictive and then this would allow you to individually decide on each sheet what the automation permissions should be restricted to, so you could set some of them to send to users not shared to the sheet.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I am looking for an admin-level setting on a sheet or workspace basis that could bypass the restrictions settings. For example if I have the restrictions in place by default as a safeguard for any sheets/workspaces that are labeled sensitive I want to have the restrictions bypassed for sheets/workspaces that are not labeled sensitive. I don't want to (and cannot) loosen the global restrictions because they are in place to protect sensitive information across the board. We always go with the strictest approach by default and then case-by-case loosen restrictions (this is our model for sharing with those that are allowed to be shared to sheets/workspaces).

I understand; currently there isn't a functionality to be able to do this. Sheet owners and admins will only be able to select sheet-level automation permissions that are equally or more restrictive than the account-level automation permissions.
