SUMIF Formula for text criteria in a column

Hi Smartsheet Experts! I'm sure this is a simple question, but none of my attempted formulas have panned out. I am trying to create a function that will count the total number of a particular condition in a column. I've included a screenshot below.

So. What I'd like to be able to show is the total number of "ESI" randomizations. I feel like I'm missing something really simple. :(

    Hi Megan,

    Try something like this.

    =COUNTIF(Randomization:Randomization; "ESI")

The same version but with the below changes for convenience.

    =COUNTIF(Randomization:Randomization, "ESI")

Depending on your country/region, you'll need to exchange the comma to a period and the semi-colon to a comma.

    Did that work?

    I hope that helps!

Be safe and have a fantastic week!

    Best,
