@Andrée Starå I just emailed you as well. I really hoping this is the solution I've been looking for!

Thank you for creating and being open to sharing your approach. I've emailed you and am looking forward to seeing the example.
Have a lovely day.

You can now record a date in a field based on row additions/changes via Workflow. I am using this to track the contract lifecycle and duration of each step as it moves from Draft-->Peer Review-->Finance Review-->Legal Review-->Approved.

Yes, you're correct, but my workaround also captures and stores the time.

I'd love to know how you capture the time. I've sent you an EM. Thanks, Doug

I am attempting to capture a timestamp once a "response issued" checkbox has been selected - based off of the initial "Submittal Date" timestamp in a separate column, one could derive turnaround time for the request. This would all be integrated into PowerBI, so simply viewing cell history on a case-by-case basis would be nearly impossible.
Does you workaround solve this issue I'm running into? As of now, all I can do is run a workflow to capture a date when the "response" checkbox is selected ... but what I'm really looking for is a timestamp.
If your solution is on par with what I'm looking for, would you be willing to forward on your example?
Thank you, and have a great day!
Nick

Hello Andree,
Thank you so much for offering a solution to the SS community. I need to capture the date/time that is listed within cell history for hundreds of rows.
I'll send you an email in hopes of obtaining a work sample that I could try to recreate on my end.
Cheers!

Hi Andrée,
Is there any particular reason why an email interaction is required to get an example? I got as far as getting the row copied from one sheet to another on setting the open ticket status to closed. Rows shared the ticket id so this is easy to match. but any efforts to copy the time stamp column data to any column not set to date, only results in an error invalid data for this column type and date column only presents date. So I'm back to square one.
I'm just trying to figure out how to copy all the information (including time) and have it present back on the original sheet.

I have a similar problem, could you show me an example or assist? Because I am a bit stuck.

Hi @Cesar Ossa
I hope you're well and safe!
It's easier, but I plan to document it in more detail, but I'll still leave the option to request an example.
I hope that helps!
Have a fantastic week & Happy New Year!

Hi again,
@Andrée Starå I have sent you an email
-
I've just stumbled across this post as i'm desperately trying to find how to time stamp (actual time, not just date) in a cell when an option is selected from a drop down menu in another cell.
I've set up the 'copy row to another sheet' automation which captures the new created date but my vlookup formula just isn't working properly. it's still only pulling through the data from created date and not the date and time. What would you suggest?
-
@Andrée Starå Is this still the most current best practice to capture time stamps (other than created and modified dates) ? I need help
