can created by be change?

so i have users entering data and it records their email address as created by, but sometimes a record is not being recorded and admin will fix it. it shows the admin's email address in created by, how do send an update to the users so that the created by field changes back to their email address? why, because I have a report base on created by and records not shown as them does not appear on the report.

That would be the only option. Since the Created By column is system generated, it cannot be changed.

You could create a separate contact type column where the user enters the appropriate email address (either their's or in the case of an admin fixing the correct person's).

I tried that and the result is that some entries are wrong spelling, not getting consistency.
