Cascading Dropdowns
When someone picks an answer from a drop down list in a form, is it possible for the next drop down list to only have choices that relate to the answer from the previous list? For example, when someone chooses between a list of cars (Ford, Chevy, or Toyota) the next drop down list would only include models from the car brand that they chose.

This can be done. Below are some screen shots. The output data will need a little maintanence since the choice of Toyota will put the model picked under the Toyota column leaving the other 2 columns blank. There's probably a few different ways to get this done, but it can be done.

Is there a way to do the cascading drop downs without having to have multiple columns?
If you use this same example but you have a Make column and a Model column, and the Model column would have all of the Ford, Chevy, and Toyota models. Then if you select Ford as the Make only Taurus, Focus, & F-150 would be available as options in the Model column.
Was thinking there was some kind of formula that could do this.

Unfortunately, as far as I know, it's not possible at the moment to set it up without so-called helper columns, but it's an excellent idea!
Please submit an Enhancement Request when you have a moment
I hope that helps!

Have there been any new developments with cascading drop-down support in Smartsheet?
@Michael Hair did your resolution work to your full expectations or at least suitable? Are you willing to share more about how you got around the problem?

this is great and works for a few, but what if your first choice is a list of dozens? this would require the main sheet having dozens of additional "helper" columns which would get quite messy. Any ideas?
