Automating Update Request

I'm setting up a recurring Request for Update and I'd like to use criteria that says If the % complete <> 100% AND the Start Date is the next 7 days OR the End date is the next 7 days. But it's only allowing global AND or a global OR statement. Is there a way to mix the AND/OR statement to capture all task starting and ending in the next week that aren't already completed?

You could use so-called helper columns.
