Modified Date(auto populated by system) get changed for all record without any modification in sheet

Hi Team,

In my smartsheet, Modified date which is an auto populated/system generated column, gets changed automatically for ALL the records even though we are not doing any changes in any of the records. This is causing issue in our workflow. We have defined modified date as the trigger point of our workflow. As a result, workflow is getting triggered for all the records many times. This is happening when we keep our smartsheet open in the browser.

Do you have the TODAY function in any formulas?

No, we haven't used Today() function in any formulae.

Also please find the screenshot. Modified Date for all the records getting changed at the same time. Also when I am going through each column individually, and seeing their cell history, I didn't find any column changed in this date.

Can you provide a list of all formulas? Have you checked the activity log?

We have not used any formula except one which is based on modified date(=[Modified Date]@row + "") which was given by you as a part of workflow automation issue,.. Yes, I am seeing below in activity log. Please find the screenshot below.

No, that is the only automation.

You may want to reach out to Support. Since there is no use of the TODAY function and you have no other automations then the rows shouldn't be updating like that.

I recently had the problem of the modified date being updated for all rows. My smartsheet was simple but did have a column formula where I was tracking the days since created for each row. ref: =NEWTORKDAYS([date created]@row, TODAY (0))

I moved this calculation to a separate smartsheet and resolved the issue.
