Update Request to external users

Hi all,

I am trying to send update requests to individuals who do not have sharing permissions to a sheet. Is there a specific setting I need to turn on? I've published the sheet, so not sure why it doesn't allow the individual to open the request form and edit fields that I've made available for editing.
