Why is my automation not working properly?

I set an automation to alert me about a date that would occur in "the next 30 days" but it didn't alert me until the date hit. What am I missing?

Example, date was 10/31/20, automation set to alert when that date occurs in "the next 30 days". I got an alert on 10/31/20.

Would you be able to paste a picture of your workflow set up (but please block out any sensitive data)?

I'm not sure I know what you mean by "the next 30 days". Did you set up a date-based workflow that's based on a Date Field, like this?
