Create automated workflow to email out an excel export of Smartsheet

I would like to create an automated workflow to email out an excel extract on a daily basis. I am able to set up the cadence, however, it seems that we are limited to what an automated workflow can do. Am I missing something or is there another way to accomplish this?

You can use the Send as an attachment feature and set it to be on a recurring basis.

@Andrée Starå - I came across your answer above about the "send as an attachment" feature and have a follow up question. I've noticed that when I schedule a recurring email to send an attachment of a report, the email will only send if I am signed into my account during the scheduled time. If I'm not signed in with Smartsheet open on my screen, the email doesn't send. Any insight about why that happens or if there's a fix? I'd like a report to auto-send as an attachment weekly, but after work hours when I'm not actively using Smartsheet.

Strange!

As far as I know, It should work regardless if you're logged in or not.

I would recommend that you reach out to the Smartsheet Support Team.
