Auto-Number/System Created Date
I have imported quite a large excel file into smartsheets. One of the columns is filled with dates; however, going forward using Smart Sheets, we would like to use the Auto-Number/System Created Date for the column.
When I set the Auto-Number/System Created Date for the required column, all the historic dates previously entered in the spreadsheet vanish.
Is there anyway to retain this historic date information and use the Auto-Number/System Created Date going forward, as we are looking to self populate this from a form?
Many thanks
Steve

You could add two so-called helper columns.
Add one for the created date and another one for the date to show.
You'd then use a formula that checks if the imported formula is empty. It would use the created date and, otherwise, the imported ones.
Make sense?
Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!
