Locked Columns Copy/Move Rows

I set up a project where the rows are copied/moved when a trigger is performed. It worked well and all items were moved or copied to the destination sheet. I later changed the destination sheet and locked the columns. The sheet would not copy/move rows to the destination sheet. The destination sheet has locked columns and the original sheet does not, will the copy or move rows automation work?

    Hi @Charlene Stacy

The Copy Row automation should still run and copy data from one sheet to the other, even if the destination sheet has locked columns. This is because you would need to have either Admin or Owner permissions on both sheets in order to set up the Copy Row automation, which are the same permissions required to edit locked columns.

There may be another cause for the copy row not triggering, such as if the trigger is based on a cell link or a cross-sheet formula. (See the note at the bottom of this Help Center article: Trigger Blocks: Define When Your Workflow is Executed)

Would you be able to explain your process and trigger further? It would be helpful to see screen captures of your source and destination sheet, identifying the trigger, and images of the workflow set up, but please block out any sensitive data.

    Cheers!
