How can I format some column headers to show that they are required fields?

I do not want to use forms and also prefer not to format full columns of data, but would like to edit the color/formatting on the column header. Is there a way to do this?

You can create a header row and either format it directly or conditionally format it so that only that only that row has formatting applied to it.

You can further conditional format if required data is missing, as you cannot force data entry into specific column when using a Sheet directly.
