Auto fill Form
I have a form that I'm sending to users via email with a link. When they open that form, I'd like the date and name to auto-populate with the current date and their name.
Information:
The sheet that will be receiving this information could have their name in row 1 if that would help, but I don't want to already have rows with their name in it.
Each user will have their own sheet, but I don't want to already have rows with their name it in. I need for each new row (when they enter information) to trigger an automation.
I don't care if they see their name or not, but I do need it to be in the row with the information they provide, immediately.
Let me know if I can provide any other information.

I hope you're well and safe!
I'd recommend using the Placeholder feature and the System column, Created Date.

Would that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic weekend!

Hi @Andrée Starå Thank you for your kind answer.
I think you misunderstand what I'm asking. I have 2 sheets; sheet one will kick off an automation that will send an email to the user (I've used placeholders in this automation) with a link to a form for another sheet (sheet 2). When the users enters the information via the form for sheet 2, I'd like the date (I can probably use system date) and the user name to be placed in sheet 2.
I think I can use automation to change the cell when a new row is added, but I was wondering if there was another way to make the user's name (also the sheet owner) appear in the "Name" column.
This in turn sets off another automation to send them all the information they entered.
I'm wondering if there is a better way. 😀
