Automation for Notification when Row is in Status for a Period of Time

Is there any way to set up a notification to be sent automatically when a row has been in a certain status for a period of time? I know how to do this when there is a date field to go by, but if there isn't a column to track a date field is there any way for the system to know how long a row has been in a given status and send a notification when that period of time reaches a certain threshold?

What is the "certain status?"

You can use the Record a Date automation to record the date when the the field is changed to that certain status. And then calculate based on that date field.
