How to include changed fields in an alert

I want to alert the project manager of any changes to records managed by that project manager and include only the values of the fields that changed. The fields that were modified could be 1 or more of dozens. So I do not want to include ALL fields -- only those which have been modified.

Is that possible?

@Michael JORDAN The more I dig into it, the more complicated it gets. And I mean extremely complicated. It is THEORETICALLY possible, but it is quite a bit of a headache to get set up.

My suggestion would be to include the link to the sheet and turn on the Highlight Changes feature.

It is possible with a separate sheet and some cross sheet references along with a couple of hidden helper columns but depends on the size of your sheet. How many columns do you want to evaluate, and how many rows are there?

Thanks, Paul. There are 20 columns I'd want to evaluate. And there are about 200 active rows.

When you say "Active", do you have any "inactive" rows that contain data? The solution requires referencing all rows and all columns, so I want to make sure we are not going to reach any of the limits.

The overall smartsheet has 110 columns and 1,262 rows, the vast majority of which include data.

Ok. Even with only the 20 columns, 1,262 rows exceeds the cells referenced in a cross sheet reference. I am going to have to do some testing on some ideas for a workaround. I will let you know what I find when I am able.
