Search on Dashboard

Any suggestions on the following without using Dynamic View:

1. Dashboard has a report
2. Search Box where a user enters data that return the list from the report directly into the Dashboard

The way I would do this is to Publish a Sheet and embed it in the Dashboard with the Web Content Widget. Then I would have a number of pre-set Filters on this sheet that users could choose from as their sort of "search" bar.

If you only want to show certain columns from your sheet, you could set this up as a second, helper sheet with cross-sheet formulas or cell links gathering the data (so as not to share the other data/columns).
