Dashboard chart data changes randomly

I have a chart on a dashboard that shows values from a sheet. The sheet itself is summarizing data from another sheet, to show AVG and MEDIAN values. When I access the dashboard, the values on the chart will change and I have to view the underlying sheet before the chart will refresh with the correct values. Has anyone else experienced this type of issue?

I hope you're well and safe!

It's because the sheet with the data has to be "activated" to update the data. I'm guessing you're using the TODAY function or similar in the sheet, correct?

Here's a workaround that I developed, so the sheet is updated automatically.

Hi @Andrée Starå - it does appear that the sheet needs to be activated, but there are no dates in my formulas. Here is one for reference:

=ROUND(MEDIAN(COLLECT({Price}, {Price}, IFERROR(ISNUMBER(@cell), 0), {Category}, "A", {Type}, "B")), -2)

It's not only for the TODAY function, but it's the most common one that needs to be activated.

Can you explain why the sheet needs to be activated? Is it related to my formula? I haven't seen this happen on other charts or sheets.
