attaching an password protected Excel sheet onto a smart sheets

Hi,

We are looking to upload documents as attachments to a smart sheets (requiring approvals) we have set up for users to view but not change.

Is there a way of attaching these documents (word / excel) to the smart sheets with keeping the view only element to these documents?

Attachments in Smartsheet can be downloaded by anyone who has access to the sheet, even if that access is View-Only. This means that your shared collaborator with Viewer permissions could download your Word document and edit it, however they wouldn't be able to re-upload the edited document afterwards. (See: Sharing Permission Levels)

If you're looking to keep your content as View-Only, I would suggest attaching a different file type (such as a PDF or .jpg image). I hope that helps!
