How to create children in large sheet automatically

Hi! I'm new to SmartSheet and not very good with Excel 😪. I have a sheet with over 18,000 rows that I would like to make any cell in the primary column with a date a parent of the rows beneath. I used an excel formula to find and add the date to the Primary column based on blank cells and a separate Event Date column (see screenshot for detail). The bottom line is that I'd like to quickly/easily make each row with a date in the primary column the parent of the rows beneath it that start with a "--".

At this time, Smartsheet doesn't support automation or formula functionality for creating children/indenting rows but its really a great idea!

Please submit an enhancement request on this to be considered for future development of Smartsheet!
