Date Formula Automation
I am trying to auto generate a start and end date for each task in a project tracker. I want the start date of the new task to look at the prior task, add the number of days to complete and then calculate the nest start date (and end date) of the task after it.
For example,
- Review Start 1/14/2022 End 1/15/2022 Duration 1d
- Design Start 1/16/2022 End 1/20/2022 Duration 4d
Is there a formula or way to do this?

Hi @menckj
If you're using a Project Sheet, you can enable Dependencies to automate the Start Date.
You should have a Predecessors column in your sheet where you enter in the Row Number of the previous task. This will automatically have your next task populate with a Start Date that's immediately after that task. See: Enable Dependencies and Use Predecessors
Then in regards to the End Date, you will need to tell the task how long it should be (ex. type in 4 to the Duration column). Once there's a Start Date and a Duration typed in, the End Date will automatically adjust to follow the Duration. (See: Project Sheet Columns: Start Date, End Date, Duration, % Complete and Predecessors)
