Automating date columns
Hi, I've been digging in the forum for a while for this, apologies if I've missed it.
I need to record a start & completion date for tasks and subtasks, in order to generate a duration. I've set up the columns as date only, and enabled dependencies in project settings. When I go to automate the start to record based on my Stage column changing, the automation can't see any date columns (see below) .
I've tried this on a 3 line test smartsheet, and it works well.
Is this anything to with my sheet have level 1 tasks & level 2 subtasks?
Otherwise, I'm lost, help please!
thanks

I must have glossed over the fact that these were project columns with dependencies enabled. Having dependencies enabled makes the start and end date non-editable, and therefore they cannot be set by formula or by automation rule.

@Paul Bassett Can you share screenshots of the column properties for your date columns?
