Date Formula
Hi
I am trying to calculate a date formula but having not luck!
I am wanting a main date in my sheet, to trigger dates in other parts of the sheet but cant seem to find a formula which works.
I also need to add days into the formula; eg. Project Start Date + 30 days
Can someone help please, unsure where I'm going wrong.

Try using the predecessors function by enabling dependencies under Project Settings. Once enabled you can set what tasks are related to one another, set the type of relationship (finish-to-start, finish-to-finish, etc.), and set the lag/lead time.

You also need to make sure that the column containing the date formula to provide dates is set up as a date column type. Try right-clicking on the column header and click on the last option "Edit Column Properties" and make sure its set up as a Date type.
You can troubleshoot formula errors here: https://help.smartsheet.com/articles/2476176-formula-error-messages. I keep this bookmarked for quick reference. Some of the error messages are obscure!

Thanks for the reply. I have dependencies enabled but Im not using a gantt view for this sheet.
Is there any other way around this?

Thanks for the reply. The columns are all date columns, and Ive even tried copying formulas from a previous sheet but it doesn't even give an error.
Unsure what I'm doing wrong

Are you able to share a screenshot of your sheet? So we can look at and see what might be going on?

See screenshot. Id like to create a formula from the top "Soft opening start date, and have that filter dates on the drop downs below.
Unsure on how to do this or what formula Id use

Your best bet would be to take those rows down below and indent them under the soft opening. Your soft opening start and end dates would then be set by the items that are beneath it and you could add dependencies to your project and makes dates dependent on the completion of another date. This article explains how to do that. But you would have to move the blue rows up under the soft opening row and indent them.
