Apostrophe ' being added to duration column after using the form

Hello, I have a form that I occasionally use to enter data into my sheet. Every time I enter data it adds an apostrophe before my duration text causing it not to populate a finish date. For example, instead of carrying 3d (3 days) from the form, it carries it over as '3d. I've replaced the form with another and it continues to do the same thing. Any ideas on things I could check to fix this issue?

Do you only use days or are you also using the form to capture other times like hours and minutes? If you are just using days, if you only add a number it will default to days in the duration column.

So i did some more testing this morning. I do only use days however i use elapsed days. I just entered the number only and it worked as you described however its still a problem for me because i need the elapsed identifier. I entered the following duration scenarios and received the following outputs into my sheet.

ENTERED IN FORM / RECEIVED IN SHEET

E3D / 'E3D (bad)

3D / '3D (bad)

E3 / 'E3 (bad)

3 / 3D (good)

@Cicero If i just add the number it works as you explained. If i add anything else in addition to the number it adds the apostrophe. The problem for me is that i use elapsed time in my schedule so i need to enter E3 or E3D for 3 elapsed days which again doesn't work because it keeps adding the apostrophe before my text.

I will keep trying to find a way around this but at present I believe it is behaving as expected because they didn't see using a form to add durations. I know this adds extra steps but you could create a update request that will prompt you to fill in duration and when you do it that way it will respect the "e" before or the letters after for minutes or hours.
