Hierarchy Select/Deselect in Dynamic View

USE CASE:

Dynamic View Configuration allows you to keep the templates when you archive the project. We archive yearly into different folders. As the Dynamic View ages, we start to get notices to reduce the scope of the dynamic view.

ISSUE:

In order to do the reduction, a user has to go into the Dynamic View and unset the templates they no longer want in the view. This is really time consuming when a user has 1500 templates in a view.

SUGGESTION:

"Bubble up" the path to where the template is. So, I can then uncheck a point in a heirarchy to deselect all the corresponding templates in that path. This is what I see now:

This would be the better solution:

EDIT: If I select the top workspace it selects everything and then deselects. So, I guess what i want is possible --- however:

  • Its functionality is hidden
  • This doesn't support a more informative approach where the inclusion is clear --- IOW, I could have a set in a workspace that is partially included
  • There doesn't appear to be a way to say go back and add only the templates that apply.
