Unwanted background highlighting
I'm having trouble with a new sheet I am developing for use by our many project managers. As I experiment with it, I keep having an unwanted background color (blue) pop up in cells or entire lines. I've unhidden all the columns, selected the entire sheet, and set the background color to automatic, yet these background colors still pop up. And now, I added dependency settings to a copy of this sheet that my boss is using and the Gantt chart backgrounds are all blue (not the task bars, the background). As there is no way to control this, I can't figure out how to turn off the blue and make it white like it normally is. Any suggestions?

Check the conditional formatting

Hi @DanR
I hope you're well and safe!
Try unhiding all columns and then selecting all columns and changing the color to automatic.
Also, check if you have any activated conditional formatting rules and deactivate them.
Did that work/help?
I hope that helps!
Be safe and have a fantastic week!

HI Andree. I had already tried setting everything to automatic. Per your email I disabled all my conditional formatting and tried setting all backgrounds to automatic again. The gantt chart backgrounds are still all blue.

HI Andree. I've refreshed numerous times. Per your suggestion I signed out and back in but no difference. I opened an incognito window and signed in under my bosses password and the background colors are still there.

I'd be happy to take a quick look.
Can you maybe share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s)? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help. (share too, andree@workbold.com)

@workbold
HI Andree. I just thought I'd add some more info to this issue. I've added you to the sheet sharing as an admin. There seems to be something wrong with the sheet. Any time I add a new column in the sheet, or a copy of it, all the cells are highlighted in blue. This is problematic since I intend to use this as a template for a personal sheet for many of our employees. I think if we can find the source of this errant highlighting, it will eliminate the highlighting in the gantt chart. I've expanded all lines and unhidden all columns and set highlighting to automatic numerous times. Nothing seems to stop the highlighting on new columns, and often on new lines.
