INDEX (Match) Formula with contact columns

Hello,

I am using an INDEX(MATCH) formula referencing 2 contact columns and it works great. However, when I try to convert to Column Fx it will not let me. Can we not change contact columns into formula columns? Or is the fact I am referencing contact columns in my formula a problem? I am not referencing partial ranges. Appreciate any insight.

It's more likely something to do with the syntax of your formula, because the column type doesn't necessarily prevent a column formula unless the resolution of the formula yields a data type that's not expected for the column properties (e.g., a text value when the column property is set to "Date").

If you can share your formula and the error message, that would help diagnose what went wrong.

There is no error message, simply the Convert to column Fx option is greyed out. Do I need Admin access to be able to do this. This is my hunch as I only just realized I have editor access only.

Yes, only the Owner and Admin can convert to Column Formulas.
