Coping currency values from excel into smartsheet

Hi guys

I have to copy some currency values from Excel to smartsheet (South African Rand) In Excel it is displayed as R 14 953,60 for example and when I copy it over, it only takes it as text, and then I have to remove the R, the space separator and replace the "," with a "." before it recognizes it as a number in smartsheet and only then it turns it back into a currency format on smartsheet.

Is there not an easier way to do this?

Yes, you could convert in Excel or add a formula to convert in Smartsheet after.
