dependencies lines not showing on gantt

I have a lot of rows with dependencies but some randomly disappear from the Gantt View. can anyone suggest why and how to prevent this happening? The whole point of using Gantt View is so that I can see the dependencies.

note: I have since realised that the lines on gantt sometimes disappear and then re-appaear,while the actual dependencies still there. this seems to be a bug and a really annoying one.
