Auto-populate symbol field

Can you auto-populate a symbol field based on criteria? The change looks like this:

Any new row added will have the Risk symbol automatically changed to the green circle/dot.

I've tried doing the change a cell workflow, but it won't allow me to change the Risk/Symbol column.

I hope that makes sense.

You could add a so-called helper column, in which you'd change the text value and then reference it in your Risk column.

I just tested, and it looks like you cannot use the Change Cell automation on Symbol Columns. Are you wanting this to be manually changed in the future (after the row has been created), or are you able to provide logic for each of the other colors and maybe we can come up with a formula for you?

When a new line is added, we want to populate the Risk Column with Green. Then after, it can be changed manually by the user

You cannot unfortunately change a symbol type column through a change cell automation. How exactly are new rows added?

they come in via api

In that case you would need to have it written into the API or manually change it to green on all rows.
