There are several posts out there detailing this issue, for which Smartsheet has provided nothing in the way of a solution. Sharing a few for details:
I have submitted multiple cases on this myself.
"Merge saves" frequently revert many of the changes that I, as an admin, make to the structure of my sheets. This is a mockery of the supposedly collaborative nature of smartsheets. Often this happens when another user has the same sheet open for over a day and then decides to use it and save stuff based on a very outdated version, also deleting changes made by other users in the meantime. Ridiculous!
Hi, just signing in to add my vote. We urgently need a fix for this issue.
Agreed, though I have had an extremely hard time getting Smartsheet support to even recognize this as an issue. That is the part I find ridiculous.
We have had multiple sheets erroneously modified by merge saves, the last having changed over 9k cells incorrectly. This is such a ridiculous problem to have when so many other collaboration tools have solved this problem long ago. The fact that smartsheet requires manual input to save changes is crazy. Just autosave after every change and the problem goes away. Why is this still a problem??
As one of the system admins, it is absurd to me that I cannot view or have access to all of the items created in my organization. We have over 11,000 reports, sheets, and dashboards and I can't see them. I have no visibility to if people are using our plan for their own personal use, or what kind of work is going on unless…
Our sheets & workspaces require many people to have Admin level capabilities, which means that when someone requests access to a sheet or workspace, that email is sent to every Admin. This causes confusion and higher risk of no access granted (because people have learned to ignore the emails) or the wrong level of access…
Today you can create a form and add logic. If that logic requires that requests need to be made for X days in the future you can add logic to help. For instance is the date requirement is not met you can hide fields so that information cannot be submitted completely. You can display a banner if date requirements are not…
