It would help if we were able to choose different chart types for the data we are plotting on some charts e.g. For a financial dashboard we have the following data series with cumulative values for each month of the year:
Data series 1-4 should be a stacked column, but 5 cannot be part of the stacked column because it is essentially the total of 1+2+3 or 1+2-4. The ability to show 5 on the same chart, but as a line graph would allow us to show the budget total on the same chart as the breakdown of the budget, and would help highlight any overspend as the budget line would have a lower value than the stacked column.
I am responsible for KPI reporting within our company. Many of our KPI graphs are to be represented as bar charts. As each KPI also comes with a target I want to have the opportunity to add a horizontal target line. This is quite a common practice but as far as I can see not supported!?
Please add this as an option as I am quite sure I am not the only one in need for this.
Hi - I have seen multiple requests to add the ability to use different chart types within a data set going back in time, yet have not seen any promising responses.
The dashboard that is needed to show progress similar to what Ben outlines is not possible given this limitation. We are trying to get teams to move towards using SmartSheet for reporting, yet we cannot visualize it in a dashboard (like a graph in Excel).
I would like on the same graph , one serial in bar chart and the other in line.
I agree.
Please allow combo charts in the dashboard. I am having to use excel do screen capture to bring a combo chart in Smartsheet Dashboard.
Great idea to allow for more robust charting capabilities in SmartSheet!
Yes, we need to get some more action on this.
I had a scenario come up today where a user wanted a combo chart (stacked bars with a line), but I had to tell him that it couldn't be done in Smartsheet at the moment. Dashboards can get a little bulky with various widgets, so to avoid having multiple charts to depict what a combo chart can show in a single visual, I was hoping to come to the Community and see a super awesome update about the progress being made on adding Combo charts, but instead I mostly found various old requests, then thankfully stumbled across this Feedback & Ideas item.
As a Smartsheet Dashboard user, I want the option to create a Combo Chart (bars, lines, secondary axes), in order to better represent complex data in a single widget.
Other Community items I encountered while looking for this:
This request certainly has my vote as was a suggestion i shared last year.
My vote goes to adding capability of charting better in Smartsheet., we use the charts everyday and feel restricted by the limitations in charting data points in Smartsheet dashboards. Even having the capability to "import a chart from excel" would be amazing on a dashboard so every time the graph changes in excel it automatically updates itself in Smartsheet. - Vote up community!

Can we get help on implementing a secondary axis to Smartsheet graphs? It will truly help when presenting information to my company.
Need combo chart/multi axis asap - please and thank you 😭🤸♂️
Need Combo / multi charts please. It's time to lift up the charting features. In general - we have not seen much improvement being done on Charting Widgets in the past few years.
Dear Smartsheet - If you search on this type of request around the web, this is an old request. There are many obvious type of requests (IE no brainers) out there that haven't seen any traction. We, your users, consistently defend your platform against those that hold the purse strings. We need your help to ensure that simple things are not dismissed in order to show the value. I can't wait another X number of years for this type of functionality.
Will have to agree with James comment. I'm a new Smartsheet user and have consistently pushed this platform within my company. However, the chart options seem limited for what seems like years in comments. Would love to see this added soon. In a professional setting, limitations usually mean having to look for workarounds and ultimately, a better product. I would like to have many things on Smartsheet, but really think something like chart types should not be taking this long to work in the picture, especially one of the more basic types.
If there is any plan to add this soon, would love to at least get an idea when to expect it. Have found workarounds for many things in Smartsheet within reports and grids, but charts and dashboard, are really constricted on what you can do.
