Workflow Triggering Issue
This is strange, and I have an open ticket with smartsheet support as well but I thought I would ask in here.
I have a sheet that I am using to capture Change Requests to location hours for our different sites. The data is collected via a form.
When the form is completed either for a increase of hours or decrease of hours there are automation associated with those responses. My issue is, when I test a request to increase hours, and the form is completed I receive the follow up request to approve those hours, which is correct. However, shortly after I receive a second request to approve for a decrease in hours, which is a completely separate workflow. There is something in my increase hours workflow that is trigging a portion of my decrease hours workflow. I have attached screenshots of the workflows, Links to the sheet. Please let me know if you can assist or have experienced anything like this.
Thank you.

Hi @tim_sims23
It looks like you're using the same Approval column to record your responses in either workflow. This means that when something is changed to Approved in that column, both of your workflows are moving through the next steps, as they both think they're triggered.
There are three ways you can fix this:
- Use a separate approval column for each type of approval
- Use separate values in the same column to clarify one workflow versus the other
- Add Condition blocks after each Approval possibility to filter correctly
See the first bullet point under "Approval workflow behaviour" in this Help Article:
