I spend a lot of time working out of reports but often find myself having to go to the source row. It would be helpful if clicking on the Sheet Name of the row in the report takes you directly to the row in the source sheet. Otherwise, you have to scroll through hundreds of rows to find.
This is a great idea, I would use this if it were a feature.
Love this. I would use this all the time. It would make my time on smartsheet more efficient.
Hi @Gary Hammond , @Donald Sizemore, @Dhilsmier
I hope you're well and safe!
This is already possible.
If you add the System Column, Sheet Name, so you see the sheet's name as a clickable link and click on it, it will take you to that row.
I hope that helps!
Be safe, and have a fantastic weekend!

Hi all,
I agree with @Andrée Starå!
I will note that Summary Reports do not currently link to a row, because they're associated with the Sheet Summary panel. I've also noticed that if a sheet is extremely long/large it can take time for the page to direct you down to the correct place. Is this perhaps what you're experiencing?

Thanks for your responses, @Andrée Starå and @Genevieve P. Please note that before I posted this Idea I opened a support ticket with Smartsheet who told me this functionality currently available. However, I thought it had been at one time and now it sporatically works. Seems like always work if the row is in the first page. Most of the time does not work if the row is far down. Our sheets typically are 300-400 rows. Having a hard time figuring out the pattern.
Happy to help!
For me, when it's a large sheet, it can take a couple of seconds, but note more than that.
Which browser are you using?

I am using Chrome but I recently installed the desktop app and it also performs the same. I have waiting minutes and it does not navigate the row.
Is it a busy sheet with a lot going on (Formulas, Cross-Sheet Formulas, Cell-linking, and more)?
I'd be happy to take a quick look.
Can you share the sheet(s)/copies of the sheet(s)? (Delete/replace any confidential/sensitive information before sharing) That would make it easier to help.

@Andrée Starå Fixed! I was preparing to share a sheet, confirming the behavior, and it is working properly across all sheets and my browser and the desktop app. Not sure why. Appreciate your offer. I will keep you in mind for future projects.
I did notice that this functionality does not work when accessing the report from a dashboard. Can someone confirm?
Thanks
Has anyone figured how to make this work again? I feel like clicking on the row in the report USED TO take us directly to the row in the parent sheet but no longer. Help!
Do either of these two explanations make sense in your scenario?
Cheers,
Genevieve

Hi @Genevieve P. ,
No - it no longer works anywhere e.g. I have a sheet with only 104 lines and clicking on the sheet link from my report will take me to the sheet but wont bring me to the row. SS used to open the parents and display the row (sort of anyway).
We do not use sheet summary panels
Is there any way to find these rows without having to do a "search" in the sheet which is a PITA?
The link in the Report will still take you to the row, as long as that row is visible in the sheet when you navigate to it.
You are correct that this means if your parent rows are collapsed with the row hidden, it will bring you to the row below that parent, but then you will need to expand the parent to see the full content. Is this what you're seeing?

I agree with those that say this used to work, but it's not working any longer for me either. My sheet is not complex and has only 55 rows and yet clicking on the sheet name link takes me to the sheet but not the specific row. Not sure what to do to fix. I've removed the sheet name link from my report and added again to no avail
