Adding Data Rows for Dashboard charts requires reformatting?
I created a sheet to put my data in and created a bunch of charts tied to it. For example, each row represents that week's data.
BUT . . . as I add new rows of data for new weeks, I'm finding I have to re-establish the data field for the charts and when I do, I lose all of the formatting for the chart and have to reset all of the chart again. This is not manageable long term. For example, I had line charts, only specific columns of data used in each chart, vertical axis adjusting for data ranges, legend location, etc. all set and as soon as I specify the new data range, I lose is all.
Would be nice if it could be set so that the data range would expand automatically without having to go in and reset it and also if resetting the data range, all for the formatting isn't lost.

I try to build systems that use a rolling calendar. I just completed a system with 5 quarter calendars - current quarter, next three, and last quarter.
No changes are required for the foreseeable future to the Dashboards or Reports feeding off the (several) sheets where data is entered.
I also try to avoid sheets with the current time period's name -- for example TASKS 2018.
Instead, I used TASKS or TASKS CURRENT YEAR.
At the end of the time period, the sheet(s) get archived by given them their time period name and various objects may need updating to show historicals, but I try to design to avoid that too.
Even so, at least the current production can continue without undue stress during the cross-over.
