How to remove user access for specific dashboard without effecting Workspace?

How can I remove an unlicensed user from specific dashboards without having them lose access to the workspace?

That's correct. You'll just share at the file level instead.
Workspace sharing is still a useful tool. One way I often use it is to give everybody view access, and then grant edit access at the file level. That way people can see in the workspace, but only update certain items.

That's not an option. When a user has access to a workspace, that user has that level of access to all files contained therein. The only way to restrict users to certain files within a workspace is to grant permissions at the file level.

In the future, I better not share the workspace with someone I don't need to give them Workspace access and just give them access to the SS items I would like them to have access to. I can remove them at any time If I follow this way.

In my case, I don't want to let some users see the other depts dashboards, so even viewer is not needed or helpful.

Another option could be the Premium App, WorkApps. (included in Enterprise for licensed users)

Great suggestion but they are unlicensed users. The WorkApps collaborator pack that need to be purchased separately is another new issue we have to deal with in our Enterprise plan.

I think there are security issues we are discussing w/ SS before we go with SS Advance. How does Advance solve the problem?
