There are multiple instances where I have tried to implement automations that would perform an action (clear cells, update information, etc) based on when a given row was most recently updated (e.g. a daily automation whereby any rows that have not been updated that day would have their "Daily Totals" columns erased so that only those updated that day would show the next morning for review by management).
Unfortunately, when these sheets include formulae that rely on reading today's date and updating the appropriate cells, this type of automations will not work. If I open the sheet and the cells update and I save, all of those rows' "Modified Date" cells now change. If I instead do an overnight "Lock/Unlock" automation to perform this operation in the background, the "Modified Date" cells still change.
It would be nice to have some kind of toggle setting whether the modified date reflects changes made by automations.
I like this idea a lot.
