Q: Where or who do you turn to for Smartsheet advice?

A: My first instinct is to search Google. Next, I look in the search results for smartsheet.com as the domain where the answer is provided to get the best results, which is often here in the community. If I don't find what I need there, I check with Glenn Berkwitt (my Smartsheet Account Executive) - he is amazing!

I usually start with a Google search that leads me to relevant Community posts. The Community provides great answers that can usually be adapted to the problem I'm trying to solve. Go Community!!!

The community is always my first and best option! There is always several SmartNerds ready to help. Through collaboration, and some trial and error, I am normally able to accomplish what I set out to do!

I'd say that most of my support needs are formula related, so there's generally someone in the Smartsheet Community that has experienced the same or a similar issue and there's a thread that can help me along my way. Whenever I talk about strong user Communities, Smartsheet is the first to come to mind as people are always quick to chime in and provide support. Aside from the reliable Smartsheet Community, I do have a couple other users in my organization who are pretty strong with the 'sheets, so talking through something with them can usually spark some new thought on a troubling topic.

I was the first and continue to be the only who can really automate company procedures into Smartsheet. Which is ok with me! I commonly use these resources.

When I need some deductive reasoning to the Smartsheet logic, @Paul Newcome is the person to go to. 🙂Seriously, thank you!

I don't have anyone to turn to at my company, so I rely on the user community or our CSM, occasionally Pro Desk.

I am the SME at my firm, so if I need to turn to someone it is my Account Engineer or of course Cicero as I always ask WWCD (What Would Cicero Do). 😁

  • Hey team! I finally decided to set up an account in the community to begin engaging with everyone instead of staying seated in the audience. Happy to be here!

I've started using the term "play" to describe what I do with the Smartsheet platform. Because, when I have a problem that needs solving, I will play with features and solutions for hours. (almost like my childhood - a fat kid in a candy shop, except Smartsheet is the shop, and the possibilities are the candy!) Even if I don't have an active problem, I will sometimes make one up just for fun! Using the word "play" has also worked in making my co-workers feel less intimidated and more excited about the implementation process.

It's not that I have the time to sit around "playing" to get something done that needs do-ing, when I could look to the community to find answers. It is because I recognize the value of turning a problem into an enjoyable experience that ends up teaching me new things about the platform and its endless possibilities that I otherwise may not have stumbled upon. Sometimes I actually find what I need to solve the problem at hand, and sometimes I eventually come to the Smarstheet Community. Either way, I learn multiple new things, have a heck of a lot of fun, and save my time in the future!

(Also, I am the on-campus Smartsheet human, so folks come to me, and I LOVE it. My favorite type of support to give is helping folks conceptualize creative solutions they'd not even considered in their builds!)

    This was fun! Thanks, y'all!
