Autofilling Forms
Currently we can use querystring parameters to autofill form values (e.g. https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/18f38f1ef40223457f7afe19cc0beba5d15?Field1=Value1%Field2=Value2) , which is an extremely useful feature. However, for authenticated forms, the querystring values are dropped during the authentication process if the user was not logged in when invoking the example link. This then requires work around where the user clicks the link, performs the login AND THEN go back to the link’s origin and clicks the link again to get the autofill to work in the form. We have also discovered this does not work at all with users on the desktop platform. Has anyone come across better ways to maintain those values through the authentication process.

Hi,
I°m not sure I understand what you need exactly. But you can use the Hidden field feature to autofill some fields. When you are creating the form, for the field you need to autofill your value you can open Form setting and mark the field as hidden and down you can submit the predefined value for the field:
Hope this helped :)

Yes we use those quite a bit!
what we are doing is using query strings like For example: "https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/6145a2c33c4e42e68bf53900e4a4845b?Rep=Sally%20Smart" to auto fill the name, Employee ID, Department and Job Code to an access request form so we get normalized data before we interact with our applications and systems.
So a manager gets a link and all their employee's data from our ERP system fills so we don't get duplicate entries or incorrect department names/codes. But the log in erases this string and presents them with a blank form.
We can't use auto fill since this is unique data.
thank you for your reply!

Hi,
Sorry. In this case I don`t think there is standard solution that can be used. Perhaps you could consider Bridge to develop a solution you need.
Best,
