NEW! Form hyperlinks now open in a new browser tab

Hi Community!

We've recently updated Forms so that hyperlinks will always open in a new tab. In order for this update to take effect, you'll need to navigate to your sheet, go to 'manage forms', delete the hyperlink, and re-add the hyperlink. Then click save and you should be good to go!

With this update, you can also create a mailto link when applying a hyperlink to an email address.

Hello,

I'm trying to get my form submission to open in a new window when I use an embedded form. The above works when using the form link, but when I try to get an embedded form submission response to open in a new window is just creates a new window on the same page. I also tried adding target="_blank" to the form embed code and that will not work either. Is there a trick to making this work? For tracking purposes, I want the form submission response to open in a new URL in a new window.

Currently, you can only control the post form submission behavior of the tab that contains the form, and not trigger the opening of a new tab.

It would be better if one could choose.

I have a smartsheet portal with forms hyperlinked. It would like the form to either open in current tab and in the landing page after filling out a form have a hyperlink to the portal which opens in current tab. Now what happens is:

When in portal, people click a button to navigate to a form in a new tab. The landing page of filled in form has a link to portal which again opens in new tab. Now one has three tabs open instead of 1.
