Feature request: How to merge cells in Smartsheet

Same as excel.
-
Please add merge cell
-
I would love to have the feature to merge cells, and put bold lines under text boxes like as seen below.
-
I can't believe merging still isn't supported. This is critical!
-
Please add merge! One example use case is wanting to have header rows to segment sections of a sheet. Not being able to merge creates a number of issues, such as:
- Long header titles either have to wrap, or the column has to be disproportionately stretched to be visible.
- Conditional formatting rules inadvertently impact the blank cells in header rows (e.g., color cell when blank). This forces a workaround of putting invisible text in the blank cells to avoid misapplied rules.
- Lack of ability to organize data that needs to span multiple columns or headers that need to cover multiple columns.
Smartsheet: If there is a reason that merge isn't on the roadmap, can you please explain? Otherwise, all of us users are sitting here not understanding why this seemingly basic request has been disregarded for years.

Adding to the pile-on. Please add cell merge.
Thanks.

I'm not usually one to jump on the bandwagon but I would also really appreciate the ability to merge cells,
Cheers

Hello,
It would be fantastic if Smartsheet would give us the option to Merge Cells in a sheet. -
Cell merging is an absolute must. Hopefully, this simple function can be introduced soon
-
If you combine all the requests across all the years for this it is quite a lot of requests. I'll add mine officially here but figured I'd speak up for the many people who won't see it that have already commented elsewhere.

Would love the ability to merge cells -OR- Add a row for a heading to break up the spreadsheet.
-
Please add in the ability to merge cells
-
Without merged cells or other options for visual and accessible headers to sections in Grid View, I am unable to use Smartsheet for any of the documents going out to our team. It appears the Smartsheet solution is to create multiple sheets for each of these sub-sections and combine them visually e.g. on a dashboard. Due to this increase of time/labor we will instead continue to use Excel.

Please make merge cells part of your current plan, it is needed
-
Please please please PLEASE add a merge function!
