Linking Formulas to Reports

edited 08/14/24 in Smartsheet Basics

I am currently working on pulling engagements/deliverables and other important information from all my projects into one consolidated program level dashboard.

An example of what I came across, I can create a report where I pull all the tasks at risk across my project schedules and it is very easy to add a schedule to the report when a new project comes along. However, I cannot pull the count of rows from this report. Currently, what have on shown my dashboard the list of tasks at risk, however, I would also like to show a count on the side.

Right now I understand the way to do it is writing a formula in a sheet where I reference each schedule and count the tasks at risk. For simplicity and for team members not familiar with formulas, adding a new schedule to the report is much easier than having to modify the formula.

Is the formula currently the easiest way to do this, and is there no way to count the number of rows in a report?
